Admission Tests

The types of exams are:

• Internal entrance test of the specific university and/or faculty
• IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test) for undergraduates applying to Medicine and Surgery
• TOLC (Test OnLine CISIA) for courses in Pharmacy (TOLC-F); Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Informatics (TOLC-S); Economics (TOLC-E), Biology (TOLC-B); Medicine and Surgery or Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics (TOLC-MED) and others
• ARCHED TEST for the Architecture and Building Engineering degree courses both for the First and Second cycle programs.
• Language Proficiency Tests. Many programs, especially those taught in Italian, may require language proficiency tests such as the Italian language test (CILS or CELI) for non-native speakers. Some programs taught in English may require English language proficiency tests like IELTS or TOEFL.
• Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Some law schools may require the LSAT for admission to their programs, particularly if they offer international or English-taught law degrees.
• Art and Design Portfolio Submission. For programs in arts and design, universities may require the submission of a portfolio showcasing the applicant’s artistic or design work.
• Engineering Admission Tests. Certain engineering programs may have subject-specific admission tests to assess the applicant’s proficiency in mathematics and physics.
